A panic attack is when you experience very intense and sudden episodes of fear that seem to come right “out of the blue” and last for a few minutes.

In that moment you feel:

Your heart beating so fast it feels as if it will jump out of your chest

You become convinced you are having a heart attack or going to die

You feel you can’t breath or might choke

You feel like you might go crazy or lose control

You feel numbness or tingling sensations in parts of your body

Your legs feel weak, almost like jelly

You suddenly feel very far away, disoriented or confused

If you have had several of these experiences you may be suffering from panic disorder.
