This course addresses stress, anxiety and depression by looking at the mind, body and spiritual aspects of healing.
Each class will include a lecture component, an experiential part (where you practice the skills you learn) and time to share.
You will learn:
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Principles to understand the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, body sensations, breathing and behaviour.
- How to Control your Feelings so they don’t control you!
- Vital Techniques Of Proper Breathing to achieve relief from anxious and stressful states of mind immediately.
- Powerful techniques of concentration to calm the mind and break the vicious cycle of worry, fear and panic.
- Effective Communication Skills to express yourself with confidence and clarity.
Anxiety relates to your fear & anticipation about the future
Depression relates to your hurts & regrets about the past
Find out the key to getting out of the past and future and into the present moment.
This program is a unique and innovative approach developed by Claire Maisonneuve, Director of the Alpine Anxiety and Stress Relief Clinic.
The course combines the latest and best researched psychological methods with practical wisdom to provide you with effective and concrete strategies to help you achieve lasting relief from the negative effects of anxiety, stress and depression. As a result you will be more in control of your emotions, your thoughts, your behaviour and your time!
The goal is to help you develop your own inner resources and capacities to be well by focusing on what’s right in you!
In these classes Claire Maisonneuve brings together her 18 years experience as a counsellor and 20 years of meditation and yoga practice.
Much of the attitude we often have when it comes to dealing with our symptoms of stress, anxiety or depression is to find ways to get rid of them, get over them or else hide them. Often we've been told to "just fix it".
One of the features that makes this program so unique is that rather than just focusing on your symptoms, we will focus on strengthening, nurturing and mobilizing what does work within you and doesn't need fixing. When we become preoccupied or overwhelmed with our symptoms we lose our capacity to be in touch with the wisdom, truth and goodness within us.
The goal of this program is not just to help you recover from your symptoms but to help you recover your Self. To recover means to find again, find what I have lost. To be free from the worry, fear, and the loneliness that accompanies anxiety, stress and depression we must recover our ability to love, to trust ourselves and feel worthy. This is what you will experience when you apply the strategies laid out in this program.
Participants
Participants are asked to make a committed effort to attend all 8 classes and must be willing to dedicate 15 to 30 minutes daily to practice the skills taught in the class.
Cost
$365.00 (plus GST) - Includes two CDs, a double CD on “The Power of Breathing to Relax,” and "Sleep Well" both by Claire Maisonneuve, and all handouts.
Payable in one or two payments.
