Adrienne Mahaffey

Registered Clinical Counsellor
Master's in Counselling Psychology

I also have three years of post-graduate level training with the Pacific Northwest Institute for Integrative Body Psychotherapy, as well as training and experience in conflict management.

I can help you work with:

• Life Transitions
• Grief and Loss
• Depression
• Stress and Anxiety
• Relationship issues
• Low self-esteem
• Conflict Management
• Healthy communication

My approach is holistic and I use different treatment modalities depending upon what we identify together as a good fit for you as an individual and your own personal goals for therapy. Typically we might work together using:

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy:  transforms disruptive thought patterns.
• Body Centered Psychotherapy:  This form of therapy was developed to assist in tuning into your own body awareness and what your body, mind and spirit need to be healthy.  It can strengthen your sense of who “you” are and give you a stronger basis from which to make choices.
• Breathwork and meditation:  Assists in developing more control over your own internal states, both physical and mental.
• Solution Focused Therapy to fully identify your choices and develop your personal action plan.
• Family Systems work to identify and work with areas in which the past may be haunting the present.

If I do not have training in the treatment area you need, I will refer you immediately to someone who does.

My overall concern in our sessions will be to create a safe environment which supports you in transforming the stuck places, the pain, and the changes you may be experiencing.
