After having one or several Panic Attacks, you may worry about having another attack to the extent that it restricts your level of activity or participation.
This is when you may start avoiding the places you once had a Panic Attack or other situations in which you fear having a Panic Attack.
These situations may include:
Going far away from home
Being away from a safe place or a safe person
Crowded places like grocery stores, public transit,
department stores
Being at home alone
Shopping in a mall
Driving on freeways
Driving anywhere by yourself
Using public transportation
Flying in an airplane
Riding in elevators
Being in high places
Going through tunnels or over bridges
This is called agoraphobia.
